Salma Hayek Salma shared how she and Antonio Banderas made the love scene in Desperado.

Season 11, Episode 1105

Original Airdate: December 5, 2004

Inside the Actors Studio, featuring Salma Hayek, examines the life and work of the Oscar-nominated actress. James Lipton walks her through her youth, beginning with her upbringing in a small town in Mexico.

Her childhood was shaped from the culture of her heritage: both Lebanese and Mexican. Before shooting to soap-opera fame in the Mexican show Teresa, Salma studied political science and international studies in college. In an effort to leave behind her soap-opera status, Salma relocated to the United States and began studying under the tutelage of Stella Adner.

She quickly landed her first leading role in Desperado with Antonio Banderas. She worked steadily in other films such as Dusk Till Dawn and Dogma before pursuing her dream of bringing the story of a Mexican painter, Frida, to the screen. The film would earn 6 Oscar nominations, including Salma's nomination for best actress. Salma has not only acted in films, but has also produced and directed.
